Rod Stewart Cancels Tour Dates After Undergoing Heart Procedure During Recovery

The singer revealed that he recently underwent a routine coronary stent procedure and is now recovering well, saying he is “very much on the mend.”
Rod Stewart is taking a break from his tour schedule as he focuses on recovering from a recent medical procedure.
The 81-year-old music icon has canceled his remaining performances after undergoing a routine coronary stent procedure, according to a statement from his representative on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
His medical team is reportedly satisfied with his progress, and Stewart has already resumed his usual daily routine. However, doctors have advised him to spend the next four weeks recovering and rebuilding his strength before returning to live performances. As a result, he will not be able to complete the remaining dates on his current tour.
The “Maggie May” performer had been scheduled to continue touring through Sept. 3, including six Las Vegas residency performances planned for later in August.
Stewart also addressed fans following the procedure, saying he is feeling better and making good progress in his recovery. He expressed appreciation to the medical professionals who cared for him and apologized to fans who were expecting to see him perform.
Although he said he was disappointed to miss the upcoming shows, Stewart added that he is looking forward to returning to the stage and sharing another memorable night with his fans once he has fully recovered.
The announcement comes shortly after Stewart postponed a Cincinnati performance at the last minute because of what was described as a minor medical procedure that needed immediate attention. The concert was initially moved to Aug. 11, with his representative saying at the time that the singer was expected to recover quickly.
Stewart has been performing as part of his “One Last Time” tour since March. Earlier in the summer, however, several June concerts were also canceled or postponed after he was diagnosed with an acute upper respiratory infection, laryngitis and vocal strain.
