Metallica’s M72 Tour Is Back, With a Former Support Act Returning After Earning the Band’s Praise

Metallica’s M72 World Tour is heading into its fifth year with a new series of North American dates, featuring Limp Bizkit and Avatar as support acts.
Metallica is bringing its M72 World Tour back to North America in 2027, announcing another series of stadium performances for next year.
The legendary metal band will play 12 stadium concerts across the United States and Canada during May and June. The newly announced run will begin May 8 at BC Place in Vancouver and wrap up June 19 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Limp Bizkit and Swedish metal band Avatar will serve as the opening acts throughout the 12-date stretch. The shows will be added to Metallica’s previously announced schedule, which includes a residency at Sphere in Las Vegas as well as two performances at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, in November.
Avatar already has experience sharing the stage with Metallica after appearing as a support act during the band’s European M72 dates earlier this year. That leg of the tour concluded in July, and Metallica subsequently took to social media to praise the Swedish group for its performances.
“Master of ceremonies Johannes Eckerström, frontman, and the crazy Swedes from Avatar brought something completely new to the #M72 stage,” Metallica wrote. “Every night was a spectacle. Thank you so much for raising the bar and keeping the audiences in Europe and the UK thrilled!”
Tickets for the newly announced North American concerts will initially be available through Metallica’s Fan Club presale. The first presale is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m. local time, with additional presales taking place throughout the week. General ticket sales will begin Friday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. local time.
