Liam Gallagher is celebrating Oasis’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction on social media, where he also engaged with fans using his trademark sharp humor.
After the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees were revealed on American Idol on Monday, April 13, the English rocker took to X to share his excitement. He thanked fans who supported the band, joking that even as a child he dreamed of one day being recognized in the Hall of Fame, describing the moment as a dream come true and expressing gratitude for the honor.
In the comments, one user questioned his earlier stance against the institution. In response, Gallagher lightened the tone, joking that after speaking with his mother, he had reconsidered his opinion and been advised to attend the ceremony, behave, and “stop being a dick,” adding that he might even enjoy the experience.
He also posted playful remarks throughout the night, including joking references to “reverse psychology” and the announcement of the band’s induction. When asked about a potential acceptance speech, he humorously suggested he would bring gifts and apologize to organizers for his past comments.
While responding to supportive fans who praised their votes for Oasis, he called them “the best.” However, when others labeled him a “hypocrite,” he replied with a blunt and sarcastic remark.
Earlier, in February 2025, after Oasis were nominated, Gallagher had dismissed the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on X, calling it “for wankers.”
Despite his earlier criticism, the band is set to be officially inducted in November in Los Angeles, alongside acts such as Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Sade, Wu-Tang Clan, and Luther Vandross.
In recent years, Gallagher and his brother Noel Gallagher reunited for a series of Oasis performances, with Noel later describing the shows as even better than their 1990s peak.
