Liam Gallagher has become a grandfather! His daughter Molly has welcomed her first child—a baby boy—with her boyfriend.

On October 10, Molly Moorish-Gallagher, 27, revealed that she and her partner, footballer Nathaniel Phillips, had welcomed their son, Rudy, in September.

Liam Gallagher, 53, best known as the British rock icon and former Oasis frontman alongside his brother Noel, has officially stepped into grandparenthood. His daughter, Molly Moorish-Gallagher, recently welcomed her first child—a baby boy—with her boyfriend, professional footballer Nathaniel “Nat” Phillips.
Molly, whose mother is singer Lisa Moorish, announced on Instagram on October 11 that she and Phillips, 28, had welcomed their son, Rudy, in September. Her post included heartwarming photos of the newborn sleeping, as well as a picture of Phillips cradling the baby, among several other snapshots.
The 27-year-old new mom also shared images of sweet signs reading “Rudy,” “Hello Baby,” and “We adore you,” captioning the post, “A message to you, Rudy 🩵.”
As of now, Liam has not publicly commented on the news. A representative for the “Live Forever” artist did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on October 11.
Lisa Moorish, however, expressed her delight in the comments section of Molly’s post, writing, “That last slide!!! ‘IM RUDY I’M NEW’ 🩵🩵🩵🥹😭🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 My beautiful grandson 🤗🤗🤗.”
Liam’s son, Gene Gallagher, 24, also shared his love by commenting, “❤️❤️❤️.”
Molly had revealed her pregnancy earlier in May with a series of Instagram photos featuring her growing bump, baby clothes, and snapshots of her and Phillips together. “Bulking season 🤰🏻,” she captioned the post, to which her mother responded, “Waaaaaaah! Can’t wait to be 👵🏽 👶🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️.”
For much of Molly’s life, Liam was estranged from her. In a 2017 interview with GQ, the “Wonderwall” singer admitted he had never met her, citing his strained relationship with Moorish. “The kid I haven’t seen. We’ll see one day, but, no, not seen her,” he said at the time. “I just ain’t met her because her mam’s… Listen, we don’t work. We don’t get on.”
He added that there was “no problem” between him and Molly, saying, “She’s been looked after, clothed, fed, and went to lovely schools. I bought them a house and all that. I just think she’s best off with her mum.”
In 2018, however, Liam and Molly finally met, with the pair posing for a photo backstage at a Rolling Stones concert in London alongside his sons Lennon and Gene.
