Billie Joe Armstrong wasn’t about to ignore bad behavior in the crowd during Green Day’s recent performance in Germany.
During the band’s set at the Hurricane Festival on Sunday, June 22, the 53-year-old frontman briefly halted the show to address a disruptive audience member, according to a TikTok video captured by a fan.
In the clip, Armstrong is seen singing before handing the mic over to the crowd. Suddenly, he removes his guitar, kneels down, and appears to call out someone in the front row, pointing and yelling before slinging his guitar back on.
The TikTok post claimed the fan had been spraying Armstrong with a water gun throughout the performance. “Billie Joe reacts to person who kept sh00t1ng water on his face with a waterg0n throughout the whole show,” read the caption, which included hashtags like #greenday and #billiejoearmstrong.
At this time, Armstrong’s team has not issued a comment regarding the incident, according to PEOPLE.
This isn’t the only dramatic moment from a recent Green Day show. Back in April, during their headlining appearance at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, a stray firework ignited a palm tree near the artist area, briefly disrupting the performance.
That Coachella set marked Green Day’s debut as a featured act at the event. Armstrong had previously taken the stage in 2014 as a guest with The Replacements and, this year, performed “Head Over Heels” with The Go-Go’s just one day before their headlining night.
Green Day dropped their latest album, Saviors, in January 2024. They launched their massive Saviors Tour in May, celebrating milestone anniversaries for two of their most iconic albums: 1994’s Dookie and 2004’s American Idiot.
Joining them on tour are The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas in North America. Their U.K. and European leg features support from Nothing But Thieves, The Hives, Donots, The Interrupters, and Maid of Ace.
