David Lee Roth makes his comeback to the stage, performing a set filled with iconic Van Halen hits.

The former Van Halen frontman performs his first solo concert in five years at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Maryland.

David Lee Roth returned to the stage for his first live performance in five years. The former Van Halen frontman delivered a 16-song set at the 19,000-capacity Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, on Saturday, marking the second night of this year’s M3 Rock Festival.

The setlist was exclusively made up of songs from his early years with Van Halen, leaving out his solo material and, unsurprisingly, tracks from Van Halen’s 2012 reunion album A Different Kind of Truth. Instead, fans enjoyed 15 classic Van Halen hits, beginning with “Panama” and ending with “Jump,” along with a cover of The Kinks’ “You Really Got Me,” a song famously reinterpreted by Van Halen on their debut album.

Roth’s last performance was at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, TX, back in March 2020. However, fans won’t have to wait another five years for his next show, as he has already scheduled another performance: On September 12, he’ll take the stage at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA, as part of the venue’s annual Summer Concert Series.

Other acts set to perform in the series, which kicks off this month, include Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening, Gogol Bordello, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rick Springfield, Buddy Guy, the Beach Boys, ZZ Top, Three Dog Night, 38 Special, The Marshall Tucker Band, Daryl Hall, and Garbage.
