For those who chose to stay in rather than head to bars, clubs, or fireworks shows, there were worse ways to ring in 2025 than watching ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve music special from the comfort of home.

This year’s broadcast featured performances from Lenny Kravitz, Carrie Underwood, Kesha, Tinashe, TLC, and others, with Ryan Seacrest hosting the festivities. However, the standout performance of the night came from Alanis Morissette, who celebrated the 30th anniversary of her groundbreaking 1995 album Jagged Little Pill.

The album, which has sold over 33 million copies, features contributions from notable musicians like Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction, Benmont Tench of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Matt Laug of AC/DC. It has gained renewed popularity among Gen Z, including pop-punk sensation Olivia Rodrigo, who joined Morissette for a duet of “You Oughta Know” in Los Angeles in 2022.

On New Year’s Eve, actress and singer Renéé Rapp, known for Mean Girls and The Sex Lives of College Girls, joined Morissette on stage for a performance of “You Oughta Know.” Rapp took to Instagram to humorously declare that Morissette was “the only person that could get me out of the house” on New Year’s Eve.

Morissette also treated viewers to a performance of Jagged Little Pill‘s fourth single, “Ironic,” during the show.
