Buckcherry Tour Bus Caught in Fatal South Carolina Highway Crash, but Band and Crew Escape Injury

The band said authorities confirmed that the crash occurring in front of their tour bus tragically claimed one person’s life.
Rock band Buckcherry’s tour bus was involved in a deadly multi-vehicle crash while the group was traveling for its nationwide tour.
On Friday, Aug. 21, the band announced through social media that its bus had been involved in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, at approximately 2 a.m.
Buckcherry confirmed that all of its members and touring crew escaped the incident without injuries. However, authorities determined that a separate collision that happened in front of the band’s bus resulted in one person’s death.
The band expressed its condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones and thanked fans and others who had contacted them with messages of concern.
According to reports from local news outlets, a pedestrian was struck and killed on the eastbound side of I-26 near mile marker 31. The individual had reportedly exited a vehicle before being hit by a Toyota sedan and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash led authorities to close all eastbound lanes of the highway for several hours as the incident was investigated.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the state Department of Transportation had not immediately provided additional information about the crash.
At the time of the incident, Buckcherry’s lineup — including singer Josh Todd, guitarist Stevie D., bassist Kelly LeMieux, drummer Francis Ruiz and guitarist Billy Rowe — was traveling as part of the band’s Roar Like Thunder Tour.
Despite the accident, the group’s next scheduled performance at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Saturday, Aug. 22, was expected to go ahead as planned.
