Bryan Adams has apologized to his Australian fans after having to postpone his concert at Perth’s RAC Arena.
On Sunday, Feb. 9, the Summer of ’69 singer canceled the show that evening due to a major sewer blockage caused by grease and rags, which affected the venue’s water supply.
“Tonight’s show at RAC Arena has been postponed,” Adams announced on Facebook. “I’m really sorry we couldn’t make this happen tonight—I was so looking forward to seeing you all.”
Currently touring Australia, Adams reassured fans that the concert would be rescheduled soon.
“I appreciate your patience and support and can’t wait to be back and play for you as soon as we can reschedule,” he added.
Water Corporation later confirmed in a statement that wastewater overflows resulted from a significant blockage in a sewer main along Wellington Street in Perth.
They also advised the public to avoid any pooled water in the Wellington Street area, as it could contain sewage due to the major sewer blockage.
“Our crews are working as a priority to clear the large blockage of fat, grease, and rags, which has caused multiple wastewater overflows at properties along Wellington Street,” they shared on Facebook on Sunday, Feb. 9.
The statement explained that Bryan Adams’ concert at RAC Arena on February 9, 2025, was called off due to concerns over sewage backup in the venue’s restrooms, which could have posed a public health hazard.
The music company stated that all current ticket holders would receive an email update soon and did not need to take any action at this time.
On February 10, Water Corporation reported that their team had worked tirelessly to clear a blockage in a sewer main along Wellington Street in Perth’s central business district.
Adams’ next scheduled performance is at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on February 12.
