Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden Teams Up with Sepultura Members for New Album, Recording at Dave Grohl’s Studio

Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser shares major hints in a recent social media update
Bruce Dickinson, the legendary Iron Maiden frontman, is working on his next solo album with contributions from members of Sepultura, recording at Dave Grohl’s famed studio.
Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser shared the news in a recent Instagram post, posting photos of himself playing percussion alongside Dickinson in the studio. He also included a picture of Grohl with mixing and mastering engineer Brendan Duffey, hinting at their involvement in the project.
Kisser wrote, “What a privilege! Truly an honor to participate on the new album of the great master of metal [Bruce Dickinson], a gentleman and a fucking legend! Thank you for letting me play some percussion on the album!”
Switching briefly to Portuguese, he thanked Duffey for the invitation before returning to English to praise Grohl’s studio: “And [Dave Grohl], what a studio you created, simply magical. Hope you like the distortion from the new pedal [by Fuel Music Audio] 🤘🏻 Heavy Metal rules!”
Sepultura vocalist Derrick Green also appears to be part of the project, posting a selfie with Dickinson on social media and captioning it, “With the legend himself!”
Dickinson, who has led Iron Maiden since 1981, revealed last year that he planned to record his follow-up to 2024’s The Mandrake Project in January 2026. He emphasized that the sessions would be “old-school, live.”
“We’re doing it, everybody on the floor, with the intention of keeping it all,” he told Chris Jericho on the Talk Is Jericho podcast. “Not with, ‘Oh, we’re gonna do it, everybody on the floor, and then we’re gonna keep the drums and re-record everything.’ No! The idea is, we’re gonna keep it all. Only if it really stinks will we redo it.”
The album is being recorded at Studio 606, Grohl’s recording facility, which originated as his home studio in Richmond, Virginia, before relocating to Northridge, California, and becoming the Foo Fighters’ main studio. Over the years, artists like Lamb of God, Ghost, Stone Sour, and Tenacious D have recorded there. In 2022, Studio 606 was even featured in Studio 666, the Foo Fighters’ horror-comedy film about a haunted recording space.
Once Dickinson wraps his solo project, he’ll return to Iron Maiden, who kick off the second European leg of their Run For Your Lives 50th-anniversary tour in May, culminating in a major show at Knebworth House in July. Additional North, Central, and South American dates are scheduled from August through November.
Dickinson launched his solo career in 1989 with “Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter” for the Nightmare on Elm Street 5 soundtrack. He briefly left Iron Maiden in 1993 to focus on solo work but rejoined the band in 1999. Though his solo releases have been sporadic, The Mandrake Project marked his first solo album in 19 years.
