Axl Rose has settled a sexual assault lawsuit while maintaining his innocence, stating, “As I have from the beginning, I deny the allegations.”

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose faced accusations of assaulting former Penthouse model Sheila Kennedy in 1989.

Axl Rose has reached a private settlement in the sexual assault lawsuit filed against him in November of last year. The case has been closed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled. The terms of the settlement remain undisclosed.

Rose told Rolling Stone, “As I have from the beginning, I deny the allegations. There was no assault.”

In a separate statement, Rose’s attorney, E. Danya Perry, expressed, “Mr. Rose has suffered greatly from this lawsuit, and I am pleased that he will now be able to move on with his life.”

According to court documents, the alleged assault occurred in 1989 after former Penthouse model Sheila Kennedy met Axl Rose at a nightclub. Kennedy claimed that she agreed to attend a party in Rose’s hotel suite, where she and other guests were reportedly given cocaine and alcohol. The lawsuit described an initial encounter with Rose that Kennedy “did not mind,” followed by a detailed account of the alleged assault

When Louder reached out to Axl Rose’s representatives for comment, they received a statement from his attorney, Alan S. Gutman of Gutman Law in Los Angeles.

“Simply put, this incident never happened,” said Gutman. “Though he doesn’t deny the possibility of a fan photo taken in passing, Mr. Rose has no recollection of ever meeting or speaking to the Plaintiff, and has never heard about these fictional allegations prior to today. Mr. Rose is confident this case will be resolved in his favor.”
