“Avril Lavigne Launches Her First Official Wine, ‘Complicated,’ with Banshee — Inspired by One of Her Biggest Hits”

By Website Content Manager

“This special small-batch pinot noir will be sold exclusively through the Banshee website for $30, available only while stocks last.”

Avril Lavigne’s newest venture really is “the best damn thing.”

On Tuesday, Sept. 16, the Canadian pop-punk star revealed she’s teaming up with Banshee Wines, part of Foley Family Wines & Spirits (FFWS), to release her first official wine: Banshee Complicated.

Taking its name from her 2002 breakthrough hit “Complicated” and following her recent North American Greatest Hits Tour, the limited-edition pinot noir is described as smooth and light, with bright layers of cherry and raspberry.

Retailing for $30, the wine will be sold exclusively on Banshee’s website and offered for tasting and purchase at the brand’s California tasting room — but only while supplies last.

“I’ve been working with Banshee for the last two years, beginning with my Greatest Hits Tour, where their bar became a fixture backstage and at my afterparties,” the 40-year-old told PEOPLE. “As my love for wine has grown, I knew Banshee was the right partner for my first official release.”

She explained that the wine was originally created for the backstage bar during her tour. “We wanted everything to feel connected — from the stage to behind the scenes,” she said. “Calling it after one of my biggest hits just felt perfect.”

Jason Daniel, chief marketing officer of FFWS, said the collaboration blends Lavigne’s “unique artistry and rock ’n’ roll spirit with our winemaking craft, giving fans a fresh way to connect with her music.”

To celebrate the launch, Banshee is also releasing 50 limited-edition “Sip and Spin” kits, which bundle the wine with a record player and a vinyl copy of Lavigne’s 2002 debut album Let Go.

In addition, the winery will donate $10,000 to She Is the Music, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women in songwriting and the music industry.

And fittingly, when Lavigne pours herself a glass of Complicated, she says the iconic single is back on top of her own playlist.
