The Rolling Stones, reportedly using the alias “The Cockroaches,” are preparing to release the first track from their upcoming 25th studio album.
The Rolling Stones are set to release the first song from their upcoming 25th studio album tomorrow, April 11, but the track will not appear on streaming platforms.
Instead, the song titled Rough and Twisted will be issued as a vinyl-only “white label” release under the alias “The Cockroaches,” a playful reference to the band’s long-running career and a name they have reportedly used during secret performances in the past.
Earlier this week, posters promoting “The Cockroaches” appeared around Camden in north London, featuring a QR code that directs fans to a website where they can sign up for updates or buy merchandise, including shirts that ask, “WHO THE F*** ARE THE COCKROACHES?”
Unconfirmed reports suggest the band’s new album—follow-up to 2023’s Hackney Diamonds—may be titled Foreign Tongues. The project is also said to be produced by Andrew Watt, who previously worked with artists like Ozzy Osbourne, Pearl Jam, and is also involved in an upcoming album from Paul McCartney.
Reports also claim a potential lead single from the album may be titled Mr. Charm.
According to sources, the album has already been recorded and refined over time, with sessions taking place at studios in London, including Metropolis Studios. However, no official tour or live performances have been announced to accompany the release, and a spokesperson for the band emphasized that any future shows will happen on the band’s own terms.
