“The Voice Of Rock” Revisits Deep Purple’s Back Catalogue on US Tour, and It’s a Remarkable Experience

Glenn Hughes, currently co-headlining the ‘Classic Deep Purple Live Tour’ in the US alongside Swedish guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen, orchestrated a truly unforgettable moment during a tour stop in Los Angeles at the Saban Theater on Friday, September 8th.

Hughes first welcomed his Black Country Communion bandmate Joe Bonamassa to the stage for a magnificent, epic 15-minute rendition of “Mistreated,” originally featured on Deep Purple’s “Burn” album from their Mk. III lineup. And, as if that weren’t enough, Hughes then stunned the audience by introducing Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith to join in for electrifying performances of “Highway Star” and “Burn.”

This extraordinary collaboration undoubtedly left the audience in awe.
