During a recent episode of Riff X’s Metal XS, Zakk Wylde, the iconic guitarist and longtime collaborator, shared his thoughts on what Black Sabbath’s 2025 farewell show might involve.
Wylde, 58, mentioned that Osbourne — who disclosed his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2003 and recently revealed he can no longer walk — may take the stage seated on a “throne.”
Zakk Wylde recently painted an exciting picture of what Black Sabbath’s 2025 farewell show might look like.
“With Oz on his throne flying over the stadium, spraying buckets of water and putting on a full spectacle,” Wylde described during an episode of Metal XS.
The Black Label Society guitarist also expressed hope that this farewell concert may not be Osbourne’s last.
“If Oz has a great time and says, ‘I wanna go out on the road again,’ then great — let’s do it,” Wylde said.
He went on to recall Osbourne performing Mama, I’m Coming Home while seated, noting how incredible it sounded. “Hopefully, we’ll pull this off, and Oz will say, ‘Let’s fire up the machine and do another tour,’” he added.
Wylde concluded by promising an unforgettable experience filled with classic Sabbath songs.
Last month, it was revealed that Black Sabbath will reunite for a final performance on July 5.
The iconic lineup — Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward — will take the stage together for the first time in 20 years. The special concert, titled Back to the Beginning, will be held at Villa Park in Birmingham, the city where the band was formed back in 1968.
Proceeds from the event will go toward Cure Parkinson’s (a cause close to Osbourne due to his diagnosis), Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
