Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s Final Show to Hit Theaters in 2026 as Cinematic Tribute
If you didn’t get to witness Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s farewell concert live, you’ll soon have a chance to experience it on the big screen.
Earlier this month, the 76-year-old metal icon returned to the stage with Black Sabbath for one final performance. The event, titled Back to the Beginning, took place at Villa Park in Birmingham, England—Osbourne’s hometown—and marked the end of an era, especially after the singer’s ongoing health battles since 2018.
On Friday, July 18, Osbourne announced that the show would be released as a theatrical concert film in early 2026.
“We are excited to announce the theatrical release of Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow – coming early 2026,” read a post shared on his official social media channels.
The film, described as a “big-screen celebration” of Osbourne’s career and Black Sabbath’s legacy, promises to deliver “the raw power and emotional weight” of his last-ever live performance. It’s being framed as a heartfelt tribute to both Osbourne and the trailblazing sound of Black Sabbath.
According to the announcement, the movie will feature a condensed version of the massive all-day event at Villa Park, highlighting standout moments from the show, including performances of heavy metal classics like “War Pigs,” “Iron Man,” “Children of the Grave,” and a powerful finale of “Paranoid.” Fans can also expect exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, making it a deeply personal farewell to one of metal’s most legendary figures.
Hosted by actor and metal enthusiast Jason Momoa, the concert also featured performances from a stacked lineup of rock royalty, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, Slayer, Pantera, Tool, Papa V/Ghost, Yungblud, Blink-182’s Travis Barker, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello served as music director for the epic event. Following the concert, he revealed the show had raised $190 million in support of Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
“We didn’t just aim to create the greatest day in heavy metal history—we actually did it,” Morello wrote in a celebratory Instagram post. He also praised Osbourne, who delivered his performance from a throne during the Black Sabbath set.
“Thank you, @ozzyosbourne, for trusting me to be the musical director of Back to the Beginning,” Morello added. “It took over a year of preparation, but heavy metal was my first musical love, and this project was a labor of love. We raised a huge amount for charity, and fans around the world came together to honor the all-time greats.”
