After confirming the fan was unharmed, MGK told the crowd at the O2 Arena on March 5, “That was the most incredible thing you could have ever done.”
MGK expressed concern after a fan fell through a gap in the stage during his recent London concert.
The 35-year-old “Cliché” singer was performing his song “Bloody Valentine” at the O2 Arena in London on Thursday, March 5, as part of his Lost Americana Tour. During the performance, he invited several fans onstage, and one of them accidentally slipped into a hole in the floor.
Footage captured by attendees showed MGK walking across the stage with fans, reacting immediately as the person fell. “Oh my God! Hold up,” he exclaimed, quickly adjusting the lyrics of “Bloody Valentine” to add, “I really hope that you’re okay.”
After helping the fan back onto the stage, MGK checked in: “Are you okay?” When the fan confirmed they were fine, he enthusiastically responded, “Let’s f—ing go!”
Later, when the fan attempted to apologize, MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, dismissed it with humor and praise. “Oh, dude. No, no, no. Sorry? That was the coolest thing you could have ever done. This is the first time I’ve ever sold out the O2. That’s the first time anyone’s ever fallen off the stage, dude. Let’s f—ing go,” he said.
MGK then hugged the fan and led them to his microphone stand, presenting them with a special gift. “Okay, you know what? I wear this hat every f—ing day,” he explained, holding up a hat gifted to him by a friend. “F— that, it’s yours.”
The incident occurred about halfway through the show, but MGK continued performing for the remainder of the concert.
The Lost Americana Tour’s European leg will run through March 12 in Dublin, after which MGK heads to Australia and New Zealand for shows in April. The tour’s second U.S. leg begins in May, featuring co-headliner Wiz Khalifa.
