The hard-rocking Brummie legends assist their local team in unveiling their 2024 home kit.
Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler are featured in new promotional content for Birmingham’s Premier League club, Aston Villa. The Black Sabbath members, who were part of the original 1968-1979 lineup and have reunited multiple times since, kick off the short social media clip with a phone call exchange.
“Hey, Geezer!” Osbourne, the vocalist, says. “Alright, Ozz?” replies Butler, the bassist. “Let’s play Villa Park [Aston Villa’s home stadium]!” Osbourne adds, “As long as I’m left wing!”
The trailer is set to Black Sabbath’s classic 1970 track “Paranoid,” and later, the bass guitarist interrupts the song with the UEFA Champions League theme, celebrating Aston Villa’s recent qualification for the Champions League by finishing fourth in the Premier League.
Osbourne reappears in the new Aston Villa kit, exclaiming, “Sharoooooooon! Where are my Preds?!” This shout, seemingly aimed at his wife and manager Sharon, harks back to his time on the MTV reality show The Osbournes.

After several stints with Black Sabbath and a solo career spanning four decades, Osbourne announced his retirement from live touring last year. However, Sharon revealed in January that he is planning two farewell concerts for 2025, set to be held at Villa Park. Osbourne, who grew up in Birmingham’s Aston area, will return to his roots for these performances.
In April, Butler disclosed that Osbourne had reached out to him about performing at these shows. This news came amid speculation of a potential one-off Black Sabbath reunion, as Osbourne referred to the band as “unfinished” on his podcast, The Madhouse Chronicles.
