2 Big To Rig is set to bring Ghost’s theatrical concert experience to cinemas and IMAX theaters around the world beginning August 26.
Ghost have given fans a preview of their upcoming concert movie 2 Big To Rig by releasing a live performance of “Umbra,” a track that originally appeared as the fourth single from the band’s 2025 album Skeletá. The record marked a major milestone for the Swedish rock group, becoming their first album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard charts.
Directed by Amir Chamdin, 2 Big To Rig was filmed on 16mm during Ghost’s two sold-out performances at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes in September 2025. The movie aims to capture the atmosphere of the band’s elaborate live ritual while offering fans who could not attend the tour a chance to experience the production on the big screen.
The film showcases Ghost’s signature theatrical world, combining elements of the group’s mythology and Gothic imagery with imposing Brutalist settings and the dramatic contrasts associated with classic ’70s and ’80s arena rock. The Skeletour began in Manchester on April 15, 2025, and wrapped up at Inglewood, California’s Intuit Dome on February 23, 2026. The entire tour operated under a strict no-phones policy.
The title 2 Big To Rig reflects Ghost’s goal of bringing the Skeletour experience to audiences who were unable to see the production live, particularly in locations where mounting such a large-scale show was not practical.
According to the film’s description, the movie includes behind-the-scenes moments featuring the crew responsible for bringing Ghost’s elaborate production to life each night, along with professionally filmed performances of Papa V Perpetua and the Nameless Ghouls. It is being billed as the definitive cinematic record of the phone-free Skeletour.
2 Big To Rig will arrive in cinemas and IMAX theaters worldwide on August 26.
Kymberli Frueh of Trafalgar Releasing, which previously partnered with Ghost on the 2024 concert film Rite Here Right Now, described the movie as a nostalgic celebration and an appropriate conclusion to an important chapter for the band and its fans. She said the theatrical release will give audiences around the world an opportunity to experience the Skeletour together before Ghost enters its anticipated break.
