Foo Fighters unveil the title song from their 12th album, Your Favorite Toy, while also announcing its official release date.

The 12th studio record from Foo Fighters is scheduled to come out on April 24.

Foo Fighters are giving fans an early glimpse into their next chapter.

On Thursday, Feb. 19, the band released the title track from their upcoming 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy. Frontman Dave Grohl explained in a press release that the song set the tone and energy for the rest of the album. “We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year,” Grohl said. “The day it took shape, I knew we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.”

The high-energy chorus of “Your Favorite Toy” has been called an “insidious earworm,” with Grohl belting, “Get back / Hear that, boy? / Someone threw away your favorite toy for good / For good.”

This single, following 2025’s “Asking for a Friend,” arrives alongside the announcement that the album will drop on April 24. Your Favorite Toy was co-produced by the Foo Fighters and Oliver Roman.

The upcoming album follows 2023’s But Here We Are, which came after the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins. It will also mark the first Foo Fighters record featuring Ilan Rubin — previously of Nine Inch Nails — on drums.

In June 2025, Grohl paid tribute to Hawkins on the 30th anniversary of Foo Fighters’ debut album, reflecting on their journey and writing, “Taylor. Your name is spoken every day, sometimes with tears, sometimes with a smile, but you are still in everything we do, everywhere we go, forever… Foo Fighters will forever include Taylor Hawkins in every note that we play, until we do finally reach our destination.”

Following the release of Your Favorite Toy, the band has announced a series of live shows running through January 2027.
