The Foo Fighters have revealed their first performance for 2025, scheduled for Saturday, October 4, at the Singapore Grand Prix.
If no other shows occur before then, this will mark the band’s first public concert in almost 14 months. Their most recent major performance was on August 18, 2024, at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park.
Reports indicate they played a private event at Anaheim’s House of Blues on September 6. Shortly after, Dave Grohl disclosed that he had fathered a child outside of marriage.
Since then, Grohl, who is typically very public, has only performed a few times. In January, he joined surviving Nirvana members for a surprise set at FireAid, a benefit for Los Angeles wildfire victims. The group played four songs with special guests including St. Vincent, Joan Jett, Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth, and Grohl’s daughter, Violet.
The following month saw another Nirvana reunion, this time with Post Malone on vocals during Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary celebration. In April, Grohl collaborated with the LA Philharmonic for a performance of two Foo Fighters songs.
It has been nearly two years since Foo Fighters released their last studio album, But Here We Are, which was deeply influenced by Grohl’s personal losses—the passing of his mother and his close friend and bandmate, Taylor Hawkins, in March 2022.
The Singapore Grand Prix three-day event will also feature performances from Elton John, Crowded House, and the Smashing Pumpkins.
