In the video, MGK is seen cruising on a motorcycle in a red-and-white jacket emblazoned with Lost Americana. The throwback-styled footage cuts between scenic outdoor moments, glowing neon signs, and behind-the-scenes shots from the studio.
The caption hints at Dylan, 84, being the mysterious voiceover, which opens the trailer with a reflective statement: “Lost Americana is a personal excavation of the American Dream. A journey to find what’s been lost.”

Machine Gun Kelly stirred curiosity on June 10 with the announcement of his forthcoming album Lost Americana, arriving August 8. The reveal came through a stylized teaser clip, rich in vintage Americana imagery and narrated by a voice many fans believe to be music icon Bob Dylan.
In the Instagram video, the 35-year-old artist—known for hits like “My Ex’s Best Friend”—rides a motorcycle in a red-and-white jacket stamped with the album’s title. The video, shot in a nostalgic style, weaves scenes of road trips, glowing neon signs, and behind-the-scenes moments in the studio. A caption hinted that the narration might belong to Dylan, 84.
The narrator opens with a poetic line: “Lost Americana is a personal excavation of the American Dream. A journey to find what’s been lost.”
He continues: “This album is a love letter for those who seek to rediscover the dreamers, the jesters, the defiant. It’s a sonic map of forgotten places, a tribute to the spirit of reinvention and a quest to reclaim the essence of American freedom.”
The voiceover goes on to highlight the in-between moments that shape the album’s atmosphere: “From the glow of neon diners to the rumble of motorcycles, this is music that celebrates the beauty found in the in-between spaces. Where the past is reimagined, and the future is forged on your own terms.”
According to an official press statement, the record represents “an emotionally honest new chapter” in MGK’s creative journey, shaped with input from his longtime collaborators SlimXX, BazeXX, and Nick Long.
Though PEOPLE reached out to Dylan’s team for confirmation about the narration, no comment has been given.
This isn’t the first time the two artists have been linked. Back in February, Dylan posted a 2016 video of MGK performing in a record shop. The rapper responded on Instagram Stories with surprise: “wtf. this was not on my 2025 bingo card.”
He later joked in the comments, “you having a phone is so rad.”
MGK even documented the moment he learned of Dylan’s post. At the time, he had been deep in conversation about the creative direction of his upcoming record. “I was asking myself, ‘Am I on the right path with this album?’” he recalled. “And just as I’m questioning it, someone goes, ‘Bob Dylan just posted a video of you.’ And I’m like, ‘That must be a different Bob Dylan… no way.’”
