Miley Cyrus Expands Her Repertoire of Rock Covers with a Soulful Rendition of Journey’s 1983 Hit “Faithfully”
Miley Cyrus has unveiled an emotional live cover of Journey’s anthem “Faithfully,” recorded in front of an intimate audience at the lavish Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.
Regarded by Classic Rock magazine as “the greatest power ballad of all time,” “Faithfully” served as the second single from Journey’s album “Frontiers” and became the band’s second Top 20 hit in the U.S. in 1983, following “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart).”
While introducing her rendition on social media on December 28, Cyrus playfully quipped, “Dave Grohl is coming out of the Christmas tree for the drums,” adding a touch of humor about the possible appearance of the Foo Fighters frontman.
Miley Cyrus continues to showcase her impressive prowess with rock anthems. In addition to her rendition of Journey’s “Faithfully,” you can watch her collaboration with Def Leppard for a powerful performance of “Photograph.” Explore her cover of Hole’s “Doll Parts” or her interpretations of classic songs by Pink Floyd and Pearl Jam. Don’t miss the day she fronted Metallica on the Howard Stern show to cover “Nothing Else Matters.” For an unforgettable moment, check out Cyrus blowing Lars Ulrich’s mind with her rendition of Temple Of The Dog’s “Say Hello 2 Heaven” at the Chris Cornell tribute concert in Los Angeles in January 2019.
Cyrus has received six nominations at the upcoming 2024 Grammy Awards, including a nomination in the Album of the Year category for “Endless Summer Vacation.”
“Watching women win & rule the music industry makes me proud,” she expressed. “It’s fun to be nominated & exciting to win, but having my music be LOVED around the world is the real trophy.”
